Cancer: What does it mean? Is it a death sentence? Is it a wakeup call? Is it perhaps the story of one’s life? Paula learned a great deal about cancer in Mexico where she underwent treatments not available in the United States and received a big dose of hope through the practice of German New Medicine. Jim’s presentation will focus on how energy deeply touches our lives. Those impacts are shifting as structural change sweeps through the energy space. What does it all mean for our community, the nation, and the environment upon which we all depend? Let’s find out!
Feb. 16 “Addiction and Recovery” – Kate Ihus
There are so many individuals affected by substance use disorders in our own communities. Kate will share information about her background related to the addiction field and the importance of a facility like Kinnic Falls in River Falls.

Feb. 23 “Inclusivity and our Hispanic Community” – Wendy DiPeso and Jeremiah Harrelson
Wendy will provide some context showing the contributions the Hispanic community has made, and then outline specific actions people can take to be welcoming and supportive of this community so they are able speak and advocate for themselves. Jeremiah Harrelson, who was instrumental in starting a Spanish language service at the First Covenant Church in River Falls, will be speaking from his perspective and taking questions.

We are following the Soul Matters curriculum from the UUA this year. Trust is the theme for March.
