Defining Our UUSRF North Star with Paula Lugar
We will do a brief review of this series that started in March with a focus on politics. It has evolved into Sunday’s process of defining our UUSRF Northstar, so we can become an organization ready to thrive in the 21st century. We will define our “why.”
Mostly we have held forums because forums are fertile ground for creative brainstorming so we can courageously become a force in the creation of a world community with “peace, liberty and justice for all.”
The UU Principles define our values. What do they look like when we live them now? We live in a country that fails to demonstrate many of our principles. Using just the first 2, the United States fails to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person and it fails to affirm and promote justice, equity and compassion in human relations.
Why should UUSRF continue to exist in the 21st century? Bring your ideas for small group discussions. I would like us to come up with at least 3 actionable ideas for going forward.
It has been my pleasure to prepare these services. I look forward to seeing where UUSRF goes from here. – Paula Lugar
