Sunday Services – December 2025

UUSRF Calendar-of-Events

Dec. 7    “Hope in Pieces”Chad Snyder – Hope is never constant. It is shaped from the pieces of our lives and of our shared interdependent existence. And sometimes it is shattered, and we reshape those pieces into something new.   Chad is a member and the Commissioned Lay Minister at Michael Servetus Unitarian Society in Fridley.

Dec. 14    “Three Steps towards the Light “Rev. Ted Tollefson – This talk will trace the presence of Light in the lives of Old Buddha, Henry David Thoreau and Mary Oliver.  In each case we will be seeking and celebrating the “Light that makes all things new”.   Rev. Ted Tollefson was the UUSRF minister for 10 years. He now serves UU congregations in Red Wing MN, Virginia MN and River Falls WI.  He basks in the Light that illuminates the Mississippi River in Frontenac, MN. Book Club meets after the service.

Dec. 21  Winter Solstice Tie Down the Sun Celebration – Join us at 4:00 for an event to welcome back longer days with a bonfire and potluck. There will be NO 10:30 service this day.

Dec. 28   “Healing and Community”Krista Spieler – On the morning of Christmas Eve 2019, Krista  suffered a hemorrhagic stroke.  She wound up at United Hospital in St. Paul, and between the hospital and then rehab, it was three months before she returned home.  Throughout that time, our River Falls community stepped up in many ways and Krista believes that this was a big part of her healing process. It’s been six years now since her stroke, and Krista welcomes this opportunity to share some reflections with us.
