Election day is November 5th. Absentee ballots are already out. What an opportunity to practice deep listening as you make your decisions on how to vote. Who do you listen to when you are seeking information? There is one Referendum on my Spring Valley ballot. It is the “eligibility to vote” referendum seeking to amend our state constitution Article III, Section 1 on suffrage. There’s a lot of information out there to help us understand what this amendment is about. One significant question is whether this is redundant. Don Leake is working on scheduling a speaker from the League of Women Voters to do a presentation for us at an October service. Be sure that you scroll to the end of your ballot to vote for on the referendum. Remember that UU’s support democracy both within our organizations and in society at large. Democracy depends on access to voting. Please vote your conscience.
