June 2024 Calendar of Events
The Theme for June is Renewal.
Our June schedule will be more relaxed. Rather than full services, we will have topical gatherings and activities. Watch for more info in the Dragonfly.
As we complete the current fiscal year and our lease with Heartland Montessori, it is a time to explore the opportunities of the months ahead. How we might all benefit from a time of letting go and taking up different aspects of our shared lay ministry?
First Sunday, June 2nd
Member Readings – Renewal
Members are invited to share a short reading or two on the topic of renewal.
2nd Sunday, June 9th: Dementia Friendly Sunday
Bob Emberger will be at UUSRF to share his experience with the Prescott Memory Cafe and Among Friends. This won’t be a regular service. It’s an informal gathering to share information. Bob will have handouts to share and poems to read. Please bring a poem if you have one you want to share! There’s more info on Dementia and Dementia Friendly Sunday below, so keep reading!
3rd Sunday, June 16th General Assembly mini-GA.
General Assembly provides a multitude of workshops for UU congregations.
We will talk about a couple of these session ideas.
From our Forum on May 26th, Rev Ted shared info from another UU. His comments and the links are included below.
4th Sunday, June 23rd: Forum
Let’s explore a more sustainable way of being humans facing the multiple pandemics of our times together as we restore our UUSRF community. More to come on the multiple pandemics of our times! Interested in resources? Look at Dr. Daniel Siegel’s book Intraconnected.
5th Sunday, June 30th
Josh Meyer messaged me that he is “trying to organize a joint service for River Falls, Northfield, and Red Wing at the Hobgoblin. It happened once before years ago.” Before Covid, we shared 5th Sundays with other UU’s in Western Wisconsin. Plan on the Hobgoblin on June 30th! The time will be posted later. This could build connections for all of us!
