UUSRF Welcomes Visitors

1)  What time are the Sunday services and where are you located?  We are located at N8010 State Road 65, about 1 mile southeast of River Falls.  Look for the cedar colored building on the left side of the road as you are heading southeast.  Sunday morning service begins at 10:30 and social time follows at 11:30.

2) How shall I dress?  There are a variety of styles of dress in our congregation.  Please wear what is comfortable for you.

3)  Are there nursery or religious education classes for my children?  Yes, the children in Spiritual Education classes start in the sanctuary with everyone and then leave for their class about 15 minutes into the service.  Please see our Spiritual Education  page under the website menu for more information.

4)  Can my children remain with me for the service?  Yes, children may remain with their parents. There are activity bags located in the lobby that you may borrow for your child to use.

5)  Are there any provisions for those who have low vision, are hard of hearing, or have physical disabilities?  We have large print hymnals available, please ask the greeter to get you one.  Also there are assisted hearing devices that consist of a radio with headphones.  The greeter can assist you with ours or you can bring your own.  The sanctuary, social area and restrooms are all at ground level.

6)  Is a collection plate passed?  Yes, the offering is part of the service.  Contributions support the congregation's expenses.

7)  What should I expect at a Sunday service?  The services follow a general format with the chalice lighting, opening words, joys and concerns, greeting time, readings, music, and sermon.  Within this framework we have a variety of speakers and special events.  Please visit us several times to experience the diversity in our services.

8)  Am I welcome to join in activities/committees/various groups if I am not a member?  Everyone is welcome to join in any activity or group.  We also welcome input on activities and groups that might be of interest to you that we do not currently offer.

‚Äč9)  How can I learn more about Unitarian Universalism?  Visit the Welcome Table in the lobby for information, talk to the minister, the greeter or start a conversation with people during the social time after the service.  Our website has additional information about our society and about the Unitarian Universalist Association.

10)  Is it true that UUSRF welcomes GLBT people? Yes, we work to make our society a safe and supportive spiritual haven for all who attend.  We know that for many bisexual, gay lesbian and transgender people past church experiences may not have felt that way.  We want to be a place where you can find love and acceptance.

11)  My partner and I are of different faith backgrounds and beliefs.  Are we both welcome?  Yes!  Our members represent a wide variety of spiritual paths.  (Agnostics, Buddhists, Christians, Jews, Pagans, Humanists, Atheists, Native-American spirituality, etc.) but we come together in community around a covenant or mutual agreement based on the Seven Principles to support others in their individual faith journeys.  We find our shared belief in how we treat one another and relate to each other in our congregational community.  Many individuals in multi-faith relationships and families find our congregation an ideal place to be together and grow spiritually without forcing any one individual to give up a personal religious path. We are a covenantal church rather than a creedal one.
