UUSRF Music

Every service includes a musical experience. Piano, guitar, cello, harmonica, harp or vocal music enriches every service and accompanies the congregational hymns. In addition, many services include Special Music,  provided by members or guests with talent to share. Performances have included piano solos, piano-and-voice duets, singers with guitars, instrumental soloists, choir performances, acoustic bands, or instrumental groups. (see the Home or Services pages for the latest upcoming performances).  During the summer months, from June through August, the choir takes a break.

Let's Make Music Together!

(Look here for Music Announcements)

We are hoping for a re-ignition of our music programs after the summer season.  If you are inclined to attempt some musical expression, especially if it is on a regular basis, contact one of our talented musicians and see what you can expect.  Get together and make some plans.  Let the rest of us know.

Adult Choir -  We are experimenting with ways to keep music alive in our building as much as possible.  We are experimenting with several forms of Music togetherness.

  • Instant Choir, led by Martha TerMaat, our pianist, will happen once a month either on the 1st or the 3rd Sunday mornings at 9:30 am.  If you've ever wanted to sing in a choir, try ours, especially if you never thought you would!  We will perform only when we think we're ready!
  • Open Sing-Along, led by Rachel Knipfer, cellist and our past choir director, who will guide us in learning and sharing comfortable and favorite songs for the enjoyment of dedicated and novice singers.  This meets after services in random locations either on the 2nd Sundays or 4th Sundays, or both.

Children's Choir - We are currently seeking a volunteer Children's Choir director.  Contact Melyssa  for more info.

Guest Musicians - Please contact Melyssa if you're interested in performing at our services.  We welcome your gifts!
